SAM SCHUH, Head Coach



Sam graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Psychology degree.  While at SCSU, he was an NCAA National Team Champion and a Maccabiah Games High Bar champion.

Sam was the Assistant Coach at North Carolina State University from 1982-2000 and coached at Woodward Gymnastics Camp each summer.  While at NCSU, Sam earned Southeast Regional Assistant Coach of the Year awards in both 1992 and 2000.  The Lady Wolfpack won the East Atlantic Gymnastics League title in both 1999 and 2000, and qualified to the 1998 NCAA National Championships.  Sam was also named Head Coach of the 1997 Maccabiah Games gymnastics team.

Sam returned to club gymnastics in 2001 and has led gymnasts to numerous State, Regional and National titles.  Gymnasts coached by Sam have achieved the following:

- 2002, 2003 and 2004 Level 9 Eastern National Balance Beam champions

- 2004 Level 9 Eastern National Uneven Bars champion

- 2003 and 2004 Level 9 Eastern National All Around champions

- 2006 Level 10 National Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and All Around champion

- Level 10 National qualifiers from 2003 -2007

- 2006 International Elite qualifier, US Classic competitor and VISA National Championships competitor

- 7 NCAA gymnasts, including 3 scholarships (Air Force, Arkansas, NCSU, UNC and UPenn).



MARLYN MADEY-SCHUH, Assistant Coach



Marlyn earned an athletic scholarship to North Carolina State University (1999-2004), where she earned a Bachelor of Political Science degree in 2003 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 2004.

While at NCSU, Marlyn was a 5-time NCSU Scholar-Athlete, a 5-time Atlantic Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete, and a 5-time East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholar-Athlete.  She scored a 9.900 or higher on the Uneven Bars 10 times during her career, which ties the school record.  She is also the Away Meet All Around record holder with a 39.525, the 3rd best score in school history.

Marlyn was voted Most Improved for the 2002 season and MVP for both the 2003 and 2004 seasons.  In 2003 and 2004, she earned 1st Team All-EAGL for Uneven Bars, while earning 2nd Team All-EAGL for All Around in 2004.  Marlyn is the first gymnast from NCSU to be recognized as the EAGL Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a title she was awarded in 2004.

Marlyn also holds a Level 10 judging rating.
